Scandinavia books project 🌋
artbook-encyclopedia
The project originated in 2022 when I participated in the ARTMIF festival. At that time, the decision was made to engage in close cooperation with a publishing house. After that, I found the contact details of Alexey Frolov and proposed a co-authorship to him for the book (since then, I have been finding experts for serious books every time). Together with Alexey and my assistant Victoria Kovinskaya, we carried out colossal work on searching for materials and selecting the canon for illustrating the books. It was decided that my assistant and I would develop the texts for the book on gods under Alexey's editorship, while the book on creatures we wrote in collaboration with Alexey. All large volumes of technical assignments for the artists were written by me, and subsequently, it was also me who checked the artists' illustrations for authenticity.

Scandinavian mythology

A Unique Format ARTBOOK+ENCYCLOPEDIA - 180+ pages.

This is how the publishing house presented the limited edition art encyclopedia of the ARTMIF series on creatures - a global bestiary dedicated to one of the most interesting mythologies - Scandinavia.

The unique edition will feature 75 of the brightest and most unusual creatures of Norse mythology, most of which will be visualized and classified for the first time.

This is the first edition to combine the artistic format of an artbook and the scientific, systematic approach of an encyclopedia. We conducted extensive research into the Edda, fairy tales, and other folklore to compile and describe an impressive list of characters. The hard work paid off! Our book was featured at exhibitions such as Non/fictioN!

Scandinavian gods book

Art Encyclopedia that includes

25 Gods and 60+ illustrations. Specifically for the Scandinavian collection, an additional edition will be released - the Album "Gods of Scandinavia". The book includes works by the best Russian artists of the academic school, professional computer graphics artists, animation and film artists, as well as artists with unique authorial styles.

We conducted a sufficiently extensive study to exclude modern trends and convey the ancient Norse format of beliefs.

My lectures and master classes 🌿

At the Scandinavian Culture Festival, I conducted a workshop on writing Galdrastavs. This is an ancient runic practice used in Iceland to perform magic. Icelanders recorded their magical symbols in special notebooks. These can now be seen in Icelandic museums.
